LANGE Jump Shot, Photo Credit: Weijie Cai

I've decided to be a part of NTU Photographic & Videographic Society (PVS) camp and it was AWESOME! The Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) was held on 27th & 28th July 2012. We were all assigned a photo group and I was part of the group LANGE. I'm still uncertain what the word "LANGE" means but I guess it means "AWESOME". Haha. :)

The group was headed by 2 seniors: Weijie Cai & Ivan Lim. Both are very experienced photographer and have a lot to teach us. From silhouette shots to light painting, they both make excellent tutor and interesting couple. HAH. LANGE group on the other hand are made up of very enthusiastic and shutter-happy people ready to capture the moment.

Besides learning new tricks, the camp also encourages us to make new friends who share the same passion as us and learn from each other. The camp was great and the places and experience we had lift up to its theme, "UrbanNature".

This post consists of Day 1 plus Day 2 content of the camp photoshoot. Day 1 photoshoot begins at Jewel Box - Henderson Waves - Hort Park - Labrador Park. Ended the night at Labrador Park w amazing sunset shoot and night barbecue. Day 2 started out at he Singapore Zoo and made our way to Central Business District (CBD) area for fireworks night shoot.

I've enjoyed my time in this camp and in LANGE group. I hope to see familiar faces when school starts! Hope to see you guys! :)

On the 2nd of July, a team of four photographers planned on visiting someplace exciting for night photography. And we found the perfect place, "Gardens by the Bay". So Hakim, Amirr, Haziq and me prepared ourselves for the night ahead. .....

On the 14th April, a team of 4 photographers went on a short trip to Chinatown. It was drizzling when we reached there. We did not have a lot to take as streets were wet and people are hiding in shelters but we managed to grab some photos. Chinatown is filled with red lanterns, old-fashioned windows, chinese puppets, statues and a whole lot of chinese traditions. .....

On the first day of Chinese New Year, 23rd of January, we went to visit the streets of Haji Lane. My fingers have been waiting to press the shutter button for so long. So Shafiq, Hakim and me planned out another photowalk. This time it was Shafiq's idea to have it at the streets of Haji Lane. .....

On the 1st of October, I went for my very first photoshoot. I was invited by a friend of mine, Andy Razali. He has made a name for himself through make-up & hair styling for a lot of renowned magazines. And he invited me to his house for a photoshoot! He owns a blog, Andy & Weave - http://andyandweave.blogspot.com/ .....

Still having fever and probably going to be stuck at home for the weekends. So I thought of making use of this time to learn photoshop. And this time, it's going to be on the KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu) Railway which I went for a photoshoot with my fellow bunkmates. Had a really enjoyable time with them. :) .....

Had a fantabulous time yesterday at the Kpop "Heal the World" Concert! It was my very first concert and it was with some of my favourite korean bands! Orange Caramel made a wonderful start and introduction that it made the audience pumped up. Followed by T-max (sorry no pictures), which I find the band very interesting. & After School was next that had me dancing on my chair. Mblaq (sorry no pictures) was next and they had a massive girl crowd that made their day. But save the best for last as T-ara made their first ever impression in Singapore! .....

Had a wonderful and meaningful time yesterday, volunteering for a charity. The whole idea of donating to Japan, snap a picture, upload to Facebook or even get a 4R photo of yourself came from Clubsnap forum. The whole event started from 11am onwards. I was hesitating to join the charity at first but I wanted to help Japan for a cause. And if you're like me, I don't mind gaining some skills from taking portraits of people but most importantly, the donation to Japan. :) .....

What a better way to spend your Chinese New Year than having it at Chinese Garden. It was once in a while where I managed to see the sun and thought it would be a great sunny day to take some photos at the Chinese Garden. Of course with approval from mom & dad that they are going to drive me there. hah! So we got out of our house at roughly 1630 and as we were about to reach Chinese Garden, it started to drizzle but luckily it was just a passing cloud. :) .....

Reached Raffles Place mrt at about 2200. Went out with my camera buddy, Keith. Took us roughly 30 mins to find our way to One Fullerton only to find out that the road had been blocked. With only about 1 and the half our to spare before the fireworks started, we decided to head to the Promontary. .....
